AGREEMENT made the

day of

une thousand nine hundred and thirtytwo BETWEEN

THE CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES (hereinafter called

"the Crown Agents"acting on behalf of the Government

of Hong Kong (hereinafter called "the Government")

of the one part and GORDON BURNETT GIFFORD HULL of

Gifford House, Rangeworthy, Yate, Near bristol,

(hereinafter called "the Resident Engineer") of the

other part.

WHEREBY IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED as follows:

In this Agreement the word "Engineers" shall be

held to mean Sir Alexander Binnie Son & Deacon of

Artillery House, Artillery Row, Westminster, the

Consulting Engineers of the Government of Hong Kong

for the Shing Mun Valley waterworks.

The Government will employ the said Gordon

Burnett Gifford Hull and the said Gordon Burnett

Gifford Hull will serve the Government in Hong Kong

(hereinafter called "the Colony") as Resident Engineer

in connection with the construction of works of the

above scheme of water supply for a period not

exceeding five years from the date of his arrival

in the Colony.

The Government shall provide the Resident

Engineer with a passage to the Colony for himself

and for his wife and children not exceeding four

persons besides himself provided that they either

accompany him to the Colony or proceed to join him

within twelve months after the date of his departure

from England and upon the satisfactory termination
